MICHAEL KAMEN DEAD AT 55

Michael Kamen, one of the world's most respected conductors, has died at 55 after suffering from multiple sclerosis for several years.

Kamen's Hollywood resume includes working on movies such as "Lethal Weapon" and "Die Hard". But I know him best for his musical exploits.

He was the driving force behind Metallica's "S&M" album, which included the San Francisco Symphony. Kamen contributed to Queenryche's 1984 and 1988 albums "The Warning" and "Operation:Mindcrime". He's also well-known for being on the "Last Action Hero" soundtrack, when he and Buckethead collaborated on "Jack The Ripper", the final track.

RIP Michael Kamen, 1948-2003. Another musical great taken from us. It's not right.
